Privacy Policy

On this page

    Effective date: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Bitnnock ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading platform, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using Bitnnock, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

    1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

    • Account information. Your name, username, email address, phone number, country, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text).
    • Identity verification (KYC) information. When verification is required, we collect government-issued ID documents, a selfie or liveness check, and related details needed to confirm your identity and meet anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations. Where our system's KYC-encryption setting is enabled, this data is stored encrypted at rest.
    • Trade and financial information. Details of the offers you create, trades you enter into, escrow activity, wallet balances, deposit and withdrawal history, and the payment method details you choose to share with a trade counterparty.
    • Trade chat and support communications. Messages, receipts, and attachments you send through trade chat or to our support team, including automated scans for prohibited content such as attempts to share off-platform contact details (see our Terms of Service). Where our system's chat-encryption setting is enabled, message content is stored encrypted at rest.
    • Technical information. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, log-in timestamps, and similar diagnostic data, used for security, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting.
    • Cookies and similar technologies. Used for keeping you signed in, remembering preferences (like language), and understanding how the site is used. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.

    2. How We Use Your Information

    • To create and secure your account, and verify your identity where required.
    • To operate the marketplace: matching trade requests, funding and releasing escrow, processing deposits and withdrawals, and calculating trust scores and reputation signals.
    • To detect and prevent fraud, money laundering, and attempts to move payment or communication off-platform.
    • To respond to support requests and resolve disputes between trade participants.
    • To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, including responding to lawful requests from regulators or law enforcement.
    • To send you service-related notifications (such as trade updates and security alerts) and, only with your consent, marketing communications - which you can opt out of at any time.
    • To improve the reliability, security, and usability of Bitnnock.

    3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

    • With your trade counterparty. Your username, trust score/reputation signals, and any payment details or messages you choose to share inside a specific trade are visible to the other party in that trade.
    • With service providers. Payment gateways, identity-verification providers, cloud hosting, email/SMS delivery, and similar vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations, only as needed to provide their service to us.
    • For legal reasons. Where required to comply with a law, regulation, court order, or lawful request from a regulator or law-enforcement authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bitnnock, our users, or the public.
    • In a business transfer. If Bitnnock is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy (or a policy at least as protective).

    4. Data Retention

We keep account, trade, and identity-verification records for as long as your account is active, and for a further period afterward as required to meet AML/KYC record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or anonymize it.

    5. Data Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of passwords and, where enabled, of KYC documents and chat message content at rest, access controls limiting who can view sensitive data, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security - please also do your part by using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication.

    6. Your Rights and Choices

    • Access and correction. You can review and update most of your account information directly from your profile and settings.
    • Deletion. You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data, subject to information we're required to retain for legal, regulatory, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes (for example, records of completed trades).
    • Marketing preferences. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, without affecting service-related notifications about your account or trades.
    • Cookie choices. You can manage non-essential cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@bitnnock.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

    7. Children's Privacy

Bitnnock is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years old. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 18, we'll delete it.

    8. International Data Transfers

Bitnnock is operated from Jamaica, and the service providers we use may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with this Policy.

    9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform or by email.

    10. Contact Us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information? Reach us at support@bitnnock.com or through our contact page.

A note on this document. This Privacy Policy is intended as a solid, platform-specific starting point reflecting the data Bitnnock actually collects and how its escrow, verification, and trade-chat features work. Privacy and data-protection law varies significantly by country and changes often - we recommend having this Policy reviewed by a qualified attorney familiar with data-protection and financial-services law in the jurisdictions where Bitnnock operates before relying on it as your final legal agreement.
